I've scanned over this page for almost 2 hours and I still can't understand why this laptop is $24,000. There is nothing present on this thing that hasn't been done at least a year before. The pivoting screen was even done by Gateway over a year ago.

http://elementcomputer.com/store/pro...products_id=33

When I look over the specs, I don't see why this thing should cost more then $700. Can someone help me see what I MUST be missing.

It's a tablet pc... not a laptop. It has a touchscreen, handwriting recognition, ect.

Might be the reason, but not sure. Then again, that would put each system at ~$1,000 which seems under-priced.
Maybe it was a typo.

To me it looks like a price error, but I could be wrong. My cousin has a tablet with similar features, and it cost no where near that. Most, if not all Tablet PC's should have features such a touchscreen and handwriting support, and they don't go for more than $2000-3000.
However, that one does have a 14.1" screen, and that may be the result of the high price. Most tablets are usually 12.1" or lower.

But like I said, that has been done before

Even a bonified Fujitsu tablet PC(they make some of the best ever) IS a fraction of the cost of this thing.

I agree!!! In fact, I rather just build an Athlon 64 FX55 system with a Radeon X850 XT PE or a GeForce 6800 Ultra if I had to spend that much!!!

With that price, I minus will also grab a monsterous cooler and get 3.5 ghz out of it. LOL.

I'm not spending that kind of money for a system with an outdated processor and video card!!!

That laptop PC is a joke.

That price is for 24 of them people. Like someone else said that puts them at only $1,000 a piece, but those don't have very good hardware. No name, 1 GHz Via processor, 256 MB RAM, 40 GB hard drive. I wouldn't buy it, even for $1,000.

I like the touch screen tablet idea, it would be great for the photoshop work I do, but I dont want 24 of them .

I actually worked on a 800mhz VIA system a month ago... and untill that point, I never even knew VIA made CPUs.

for 1000 it'd make a decent note taking and schedualing machine, just upgrade the battery 'n you'd be set
