Smoothwall Port forwarding

Well A long time ago I ran a smoothwall but it kept going to sleep, so I finally fixed it yesterday. Now to the question, when I port forward lets say port 1717 for a Ameriacs Army server. Could I have this port forward to the GREEN interface insted of just one computer?

Thanks

Hypothetically, yes. Green has an IP address, so RED should recognize any request from the assigned ip (any GREEN pc as long as the GREEN NIC is DHCP)....Try it, can't hurt.

...FMI, why do you want that port forwarded to all Green pcs?

lol not really sure, just kind of wondered.

Well im having my doubts weather this will work, but on my network i used to use a program DXport to reconfigure DirectX ports so I could play AoK with my friends on the same network online. The typical ports would be 2301-2311 so if I fwd those ports to GREEN i would not have multiple port ranges. I do believe it work incoming, but I wonder if it would get confused when 3 computers send out different data on the same port?

AFAIK, you can only forward to a specific address and not a range/subnet ie 192.168.0/24. I tried several on my smoothy and it didn't like the destination IP

edit - you may try their forum here http://community.smoothwall.org/forum/ for help

Ahhh thanks never knew about that. But I got a problem, my cable modem is way in another room, before 2 years ago i could move it but since we finshed out room i can no longer move it. So i guess im going to have to cut the cable and put it next the rest of my server stuff.

aahh - good call Xenocide. I heard about that mod, but didn't investigate it. Not something I need right now, but will file it away.

Archer - I don't understand what a smoothwall addin has to do with where your cable modem is in relation to to your smoothy,,,,,,?

Well smoothwall wants to be at the top of my router/swich tree. But my current posision of my cable modem does not allow me to put it at the top since there is no more room for another computer next the modem, lol. So like I said im going to cut the cable and move it next the my smoothwall, and my cisco switch.
