Win 2000 registry

I have an annoying issues with IE5 every time I open a link in a new window the new window is only 1 inch square and can be anyhere on screen, this is probably a registry setting, the question is whch one and what to set it to,
also does anyone know of a good online guide to registry settings?
some tips I have been given in the past such as removing the delay on mouse overs on menus really speed things up

have you tried resizing the window, moving it to where you want it to open all the time, holding left ctrl and closing the window?
