Did anyone here try using Ultra-X Connect 500W PSU with one of the new nForce4 mobo?
The reason I'm asking is because I have one of them with my ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe and I can't get a post so I think that it might be it. When I turn on the computer the monitor just dosn't come on it stays in stand-by mode and there are no beeps since I have speakers pluged in.

This is my setup:

Ultra-X Connect 500W PSU
ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe
AMD 64 3500+ Winchester/XP-120
Corsair 1GB(512*2) XL 2-2-2-5 RAM
2*160GB Seagate Barracudas NCQ
Lite-On 16X Dual Drive
Lite-On CDR-W Drive

By the way I used my Radeon 32MB PCI video card for now.

That could be a memory issue. I highly doubt its the PSU. You should be able to post and boot, regardless of PSU instability. My recommendations:

1. Check all your voltages on CPU, DIMM, etc. May need higher on the memory or cpu.
2. Try to boot with 1 stick of ram as opposed to 2.
3. Try to boot with as few peripherals as possible until you find your instability.

I can't check voltages since I can't even get to the BIOS, I receive no post. As for trying those other two suggestions I have used them both but no luck.
Although when I turn on computer I hear two short beeps which indicates the following: "This error is linked to the memory. Try reseating the memory and/or swapping the RAM. Also, verify that the video card is securely seated". The only other RAM that I have is from my HP computer which uses 512MB PC-2700 and don't know if its going to work with this mobo. Other thing is I'm using old Radeon 32MB PCI video card which my not be supported by my BIOS, although I will be getting eVGA 6800 Ultra PCI-E shortly.

2700 will work with your mobo, your ratio will just be lowered to compensate. Try to boot with it and see what happens....

Yep I cleared the CMOS and nothing, but I will try that PC-2700 memory soon as I get home.

By the way, what would the problem be if the memory dosn't work?

I just tested my Corsair XL 1GB(512*2) at my work computer and it worked perfectly, no error what so ever. So my problem is something else.

it could be that the board is having issues, long shot, but possible. Have you tried another Video Card? Or another Hard Drive? For some reason, it doesnt want to post, so it has to be in the initial setup.

I tried two PCI video cards but I don't have any PCI-E video cards. The error that I get is two beeps which indicates that the RAM might not work or something is wrong with video input. So far I tested the RAM on another computer and it worked fine, but I think that its the video card and that BIOS don't support these PCI.

I will be getting 6800 Ultra PCI-E next week and see how things go.

yeah, so you need a PCI-E card, cause it's defauting to use the PCI-E slot... im guessing =P

Or maybe put the PCI cards in, boot into the bios and check to see what it is defaulting first. Like solidsnake said it could be doing that. Check it out and see what happens.

Then just run the setup that let you take that screen shot while your comp. was running. :)

i'm quite sure that's from his work computer, since in the same post where he mentioned testing it at work he attached the screenshot.

Just wondering, are all PSU connections to the board in place? By that I mostly mean is the 24 pin ATX connector being used on all 24 pins? If the Ultra's using a 20 pin connector, maybe try an adaptor. Just wondering if the board's expecting power where it's not getting any.

Maybe try another PSU in there too to eliminate possible PSU issues. These X-Connects aren't that bad, but they're not that great either. Especially the Young Year made ones.
