This is the first system I've build from the ground up.
3.0 GHz P4 530
Abit AA8XE
2 x Kingston Hyper-X PC4400 512MB
ATI X700 pro
The CPU is running at 30°C at idle and 48°C at load with an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 heatsink (lapped & polished) and a clock speed of 247 MHz (988 FSB), so I haven't encountered any of the Prescott thermal problems everyone seems to complain about. The chip is locked at 15x, so it is running at 3.7 GHz.
This setup scores a 2533 on 3DMark05, which is a lot lower than the other scores I've seen on Futuremark, so I'm wondering if I did something wrong. When I try to push beyond 250 Mhz, stability goes down hill fast, and additional core voltage doesn't seem to fix the problem.
