connecting audigy to case

I have audigy 2 zs gamer,, you know in every computer case there are usb ports, sound output things in front of the case, so you don't have to struggle going to the back to connect. I have that sound card and would like to know if I can connect sound from that card to the outputs in front of case. I know it would worked with onboard sound becasue I did before but I don't know how to do it with sound card

The only way is to mod the card yourself. The pinouts on the Audigy 2 and up are all digital, so you have to buy their stupid drive bay thing to get front mount audio. What I did was solder onto the back of the PCB for line out and microphone connections. I attached some old four pin header connector to a bare part of the back of the PCB (with hot glue) and then ran my front mount cables to that. Works great, and a nice "**** you" notion to Creative.

Be very careful with the pinout diagrams.

I fried my old SB Live! Value trying to do the same thing, but with an optical connector on a PCI bracket and not a headphone socket in a case.

Although to this day I don't see what I did wrong, I was 100% certain the pins I connected were the right ones....
