Are these okay?


hi, im gonna make a LCD screen. Are these parts okay? Im following this guide - http://www.gideontech.com/content/articles/197/1

Pots :

a Cermet 100R and Cermet 10k

LCD:

2x16 5.5x3mm LCD

Are these okay? And ill just use an old printer cable.

The pots are not required normally, so if you feel the defaults will be fine, I would just stick with those. For the LCD, if you can, I would go for a 4x20 or 4x40. They are much better in my opinion to the 2x16 (you will be suprised at how small the LCD actually is)

Also, ebay an LCD if possible. You can get a good deal on them. I got mine for $20

and also, from www.maplin.co.uk can u find me that copper track thing? i dunno what its called, its got tracks of copper on it with holes along the tracks - i need to put my pots on it and solder it up. But i donno what its called. Thanks

I dont think I entirelly know what that is that you are talking about. Can you give alittle more description, or point me to a picture that you have seen with it in use?

10K pot for contrast, 100K pot for brightness

From looking, they are linear pots, so yes, they should work fine.
