Sound problems in 2K

What i got is a Sound Blaster PCI 64...
and i got clicks and pops and other non goddies when playing sound.....

Now i Got my buddy's old SB16 PCI that he used in 2K with no problems....
Still the same problem.

Anyone had this problem before? Heard of it, know a fix?

Playing files from a promise Ultra TX2 (windows is installed on that as well)

tried lots of diff drivers, IRQ stering has been turned off/on....
only thing i still have to try is another PCI slot.

But any ideas?

I had clicks and pops until I installed Liveware 3.0 from Creative. I have a Live! card tho.......

How do you recognise something that is still technology?
A good clue is if it comes with a manual...

Maybe the speeker cable, move it around or blow out the jacks.
I had this problem with my last pc I had with a SB16 isa card and all I did was
move the card to a diif slot and took some air and blew out the jacks and it seemed to work.

I had the same problems, but I had integrated sound. When I installed windows XP it all worked perfectly, so no problems now.
