P4C800-E Deluxe --> Bios 1019 = Lower OC
FWIW, I wanted to post my results with 1019. I haven't touched my machines settings for almost a year. It has been on 24/7 and used regularly, with no crashes of any kind with settings of 283FSB, 5:4 Mem divider (Mushkin lvl 2) 1.55 Vcore, (Northwood 2.4c) H20 cooled etc... Anyway, about a month ago, had a weird bios problem (don't even remember what it was...) and clearing CMOS didn't fix it, so I re-flashed, and there was a much newer Bios (Had been using 1014 without issue), so I went 1019. A few days later, doing some DivX video encoding, I got a freeze. Then a reboot later that night... So, I suspected problems, and backed down to 275 FSB to "rule out" OC problems. Still got a freeze (took longer, however). I went back and checked my notes from my initial setup of the system, and it was 2X prime stable for 48 Hours with my original settings, 12 hours memtest OK. Temps are still the same as original install (Water, 32 full load). Was even 2X prime stable at 287FSB, but I backed down to 283 for some margin, and thats where its been for almost a year. Remember, not a hiccup in almost 12 months. To make a long story short, I tried changing some 1019 bios settings etc..., but still was getting freezes and reboots. I have a record of every bios setting I originally set and what happened due to any changes in that setup. I knew I had probably set them as well as possible. Instead of reverting to Bios 1014 that I had been using, I went back to 1016 - Been priming for over 3 hours now with no problems, back at my 283 FSB setting. It seems that something changed in 1019 (maybe 1018 too?) that reduced stability (at least with Northwood CPUs). Hope this may help somebody out. - Chris PS - Disregard Sig. - its "Old"

... I spoke too soon - I got a freeze at about 3.5 hours P95x2. Flashed back from 1016 to 1014 - We'll see... - Chris

That's weird. I have been using 1019 for months now without so much as a hiccup. Try reseating the cpu, it does wonders when strange occurences begin IMHO. ![]()
