Question networking XP and ME machines?

I have a computer running XP and one running ME. I have them networked through a router. I can see both computers on both machines, but I can't access files on the ME machine from the XP machine. I can, however, access everything on the XP machine from the ME machine. I have all the drives on both machines on full sharing. What am I doing wrong? I am a total newbie when it comes to XP - just got it up and running, and I have never run any kind of NT format, just WIN9X.

you need to create an account on the XP box with the computer name of the ME machine

OK, I tried that - still a no go. It gives me a message saying that "you may not have permission to bla bla....contact the administrator. "

I have the same setup with xp/98. I had to manually assign an ip address and it works fine. there's no need to create any seperate folders...it just detects it.
