i have an epox 8 KTA-2 mobo
its based on the KT-133 chipset from via

the mobo has a jumper on it for setting the "host bus" to either 100 or 133 mhz
and also has a set of fsb settings up to and past 133 mhz

can i safely assume that i can upgrade to a 133 mhz bus processor?

thanks
:)

No KT133 mobo can run at an FSB of 133 MHz. About 110 MHz is as high as the chipset can go. You can run the SDRAM at 133 MHz though.

thats what i thought too
but strangely my mobo is now running a 133mhz fsb
i dont know why
i changed a jumper on the board "cpu host clock" to 133
and dropped the multiplier
has been running stable since with not heat or stabiity problems
it is running a 686B southbridge
but i dont think this is the reason

all i can say is w000t!
:)
