I need help with Fire Wire IEEE

I'm old school. I havent built a computer since wire wire was added and now I am.

I see where it should hook up to the main board IEEE pins but the wire I need to hook up has several seperate plugs and I'm not sure what plugs go on what pins, Below are pics of my main board and wires. Sory if this is a dumb question but I'm sure there is a simple answer and I hope you can save me several hours of research. By the way the main board is a Soltek 865-pro 775.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Are those the case firewire hookups?

And honestly...unless you actually plan on using 1349 firewire...then I wouldnt connect it...I personally do not run my firewire and have it disabled in the BIOS...

Yes it is the Case fire wire. It is for one fire wire plug in the front of the case, and why would I not want it hooked up?

Look in your manual, it will tell you exactly what you need to know. Not all Mobos have the same pin layout. Best to check manual.

Because if you will not be using it...it is a waste of system resources...this is why I disble everything that I do not use...

Firewire, 4 of the 8 USB 2.0s, all parral. ports., Sata's 1 & 2 and anything else that will never be used on my system...

None of those wires in your pic are firewire. Those wires are for front case power and reset switches, hdd and power lights, front speaker, etc. The firewire(ieee) cable will have a small rectangular head which will fit exactly over the whole ieee connecter on the mobo.

Yes the wires are Fire Wire / IEEE 1394 for the front case plug. This info was not listed in the manual and not on the Soltek Website. I finaly sent an email to Soltek suport. They sent me back a PDF and refered me to page 25. The PDF is instructions for front case sockets. Anyway this is page 25. I thhought I would go ahead and put it up here in case anyone else has this same problem and finds this thread in a search. Thanks to those who tried to help out.
