Hello,

I just bought an emachine T6212

athlon 64 3200+
512mb
winxp home
integrated 128 ati graphics

I also bought a 256gddr3 radeon x700 card. Im not entirely sure how to find out if this new pc has the required 16x PCI express bay?

and Im also worried if the PC's power supply is enough to power the card.
on the label inside the case it says max 300w.
also if the PC and the card are compatible im a bit weary of what steps I should take to install it beings I just bought the PC yesterday...im not really worried about voiding warranty.
Just I had problems installing graphics on old PC

can somone help me?

it does have a PCI-Express slot. You may have to disable your integrated graphics, though. I'd check your manual, if you have one.

If you want to tell for sure, open it up and take a look. In the attached image, the slot on the left is a PCI slot and the slot on the right is a PCI Express x16 slot.

I am near 100% sure you will need a new PSU. I tried to run my low end AXP system with my 9700p and the 285W didn't stand a chance. So cheap(ish) 425W Hiper PSU it was for me.

A new PSU would be a good idea.

To install the card simply insert it into the PCI Express slot (with the computer off). Connect your monitor and, if your video card requires and additional power connection, plug that in as well (edit: I don't think your video card requires an additional power connection). Then put the side of your case back on and boot up. Install the new drivers from the cd that came with the card, or download the latest version from ATI's website. If you have problems, try disabling the onboard video.
