Perhaps an explanation of not many users online

I just noticed the session timeout is set to a nice good 30 seconds or so. To be able to post something without losing it when I click submit I have to have the box checked for it to keep me logged in all the time.

Interesting. Well, I have to be permanently logged in, if I just type my username and password, but leave that box unchecked, by the time I make my post I am logged out already.

We've got several problems at the moment it seems...there have been several thread/poster mismatches, several post discontinuities, and general weirdnesses.

*looks around for iNet customer support*

Added: Error while posting "Sorry! The administrator has specified that users can only post one message every 30 seconds." Last post of mine was several minutes ago...

Thanks Malpine, but at the time I thought this was just a cookie or setting issue and was completely unrelated to the search function. As for the other thread, this one was in fact posted before that one was, so there is absolutely nothing I can do about having a second thread short of have asking a moderator to delete this one when seeing the other thread.

Nice to have the links though, I didn't even know the search function thread was relating to this matter. And I am sure the first link will help guide other people who might see this one first.

That would be up to the owners, iNETinteractive. As far as new ownership, . It would take someone with allot of money to buy out OC.

No worries. At the moment, I have no confidence on what stuff was posted when. I have a post that I made earlier this morning that I can't find in any thread. It could turn up anywhere at any time and I have no control over that. and actually, the reason that I picked on this thread was because it was the smallest one. It could have been posted first and there would be no way to know at this point. Ah well.

And the mess continues. Now we have a new "most ever online" record. Could be that each of us was counted like four times or something.

It's all cool.

Because of the time errors, it actually makes that thread look older than this one. I just didn't want anyone to get confused thinking I posted in a thread then double posted a thread exactly like it.

Like the last online record or 993, I beleive it might have been since the clock stopped, anyone who visited techinically didn't get "logged out" or have their session end, so bassically for that whole time the clock has stopped, everyone who has logged in, their session didn't end. That is actually the opposite of the issue I started this thread about, because there, only people with the "Remember Me?" box checked were counted as online. You log in without that and your session expires instantly.

EDIT: That just happened when I typed this post. So I would assume we still are experiencing the temporal issues.
