My current rig is in my sig

Iam thinking of upgrading to

AMD 64bit 3200 - skt 939 / or AMD 64bit 3400 - skt 754
Abit av8 3rd eye / Abit-KV8 Pro-3rd Eye
extra stick of pc2700 = 1024 in dual channel / keep just 512mb

or is it worth buying to new 512mb pc3200 sticks? or should i just stick with this and add another????

how much money do you have to spend? i'd suggest the 3000 s939, mobo, and 2x512 3200 (check the cyber deals thread, there's some cheap Value stuff going right now, but I think that the 1g would still be better than just 512).

those are my thoughts, I'm sure otheres will have more input for ya.

If your using it for games, go with socket 939 over 754 even a slower 939 will perform better than a slighlty faster 754 for certain games because of better memory bandwith.

About the ram...go with 512 of pc3200 I recommend crucial, awesome ram, lifetime warranty

Also, are you upgrading the graphics card?

you might even consider getting even faster RAM than the 3200. Reaching 250fsb is easily done- now and days with an A64.

Good point, I'm a notorious cheapskate :D
