Question for the RAID initiated I have set up my first raid o array useing a pair of pata maxtor 200 gig 7200's my q is this when I bench the raid array I max out my disc interface at 107.8 mb/s is this the limitation of the drives ,the limit of the controller (single port onboard raid controller on my asus k8ve deluxe), or is the limit of the pci interface?? Feeding my curiousity.

:welcome:

Which controller are you using? If it's not the southbridge it could be the PCI bus, otherwise it's probably the drives. 50mb/s per disk isn't bad.

the onboard raid port is part of the promise fast track 378 controller built into the system which controls 2 of he onboard sata ports and provides one pata raid port in addition to the two built into the southbridge.
