i wonder how feasable it would be for me to work out a budget wc system

i'm doing a budget gaming rig with athlon64 s754 3000+, dfi lanparty mobo, 1gb ram etc. etc.

quiet is very important to me.

what pricerange? you can get a good one for a little over $100 using these parts:

Pump: Magdrive 3 $40
CPU block: Swiftech MCW6002 $40
Single Heatercore (or double if you have the room) - $20

Then all you need is one or two 120mm fans, a shroud (you can make it yourself), some tubing (clearflex60 or masterkleer), hose clamps (can be bought at a hardware store for cheap), a T-line (also at hardware store, about $1), and distilled water and antifreeze. You could probly get all that for $20-30, so that comes out to about $120-130 for a pretty damn good setup. Also, if you get the mag 3, make sure you put some sealant around the barbs, as it has a tendency to leak over time. Other than that its an excellent pump, and some quick preventive epoxy application will rid you of worries.

so if i'm understanding things: water cooling is for the cpu only, right?? that's the main deal? i was fooling myself into thinking i wouldn't need any case fans, but now that i think about it i realize that would be suicidal. thanks.

you can watercool everything that produces heat. CPU, north bridge, hard drives, video card. ram(pointless)

In my case I only have the CPU cooled currently, but I plan to have my Northbridge and my video card watercooled soon to, and maby my hardrive(might as well if im building a 5&1/2 bay adapter)
