prolly wrong forum...ugh

I have an hp printer connected to my dell desktop..hp 1315 series
I have a linksys g router, and a dell latop.

Both computers have xp, laptop has pro though

I set the printer to be shared on the dektop, with the name "printer1"
I rebooted the laptop, and clicked add new printer..found "microsoft network" or something and had to type in printer name..i tried printer1, and also "hp 1315 series" both got me an error message saying printer name was wrong or it has been disconected from the network..:(

is that windows 98? i havent seen any of those options... *sad*

If you have "my network places" on the desktop, right click>properties, then select local area connection, right click>properties, then select the install button, and follow the instructions redduc gave you.
