FX5700LE 128 Meg, 256 bit, as compared to my 9500 non pro. My 9500 will not softmod to the 9700. (Well, it does with no checkerboarding, but then will not run any 3d apps at all). I have the opportunity to buy the 5700LE brand new, still in the box, for $55.00. I have no doubt the 5700 is worth it, but is it any improvement over the 9500?

I would just keep the 9500 and oc the hell out of it. Not that big of and upgrade if any to justify it.

I concur, if you can spend more, get a 6200, then you'll see a huge jump. LE cards are kind of crappy anyway.

You got that right. Never buy an LE or SE version of a card. They are just crippled cards.

Thanks guys. Maybe I'll get it and put it in my youngest daughters machine. She is using the onboard video on the Epox 8RGM3I, this should be some improvement for her. For myself maybe I'll shell out the bucks for a new 800 or maybe a 9800 pro.

Maybe think about a 6600GT instead of the 9800pro. Almost same price and the 6600GT will have its way w/ that 9800pro in most situations.

Yeah and if a 6600Gt is too expensive, then a 6600 (non-GT) or 6200 would be better than a 9800. The 6200 will outperform the 9800s in DX9 stuff, but the 9800s will beat them in DX8 stuff, but who cares about DX8 anymore, right?
