problems connecting in games


i recently networked another computer to mine using win98 se a crossover cable and ics.now im no longer able to connect to my friends computer to play games.he also has a network using a hub with win98 se and ics.is there something im supposed to add or a setting im not aware of any help is greatly appreiciated.

ok, i'm a little confused....your connected to your friends hub? or you have another machine connected yours with the crossover cable? maybe you could clarify the setup a little for me

me and my bud(who lives on the other end of town) used to play games via ip address but we cant seem to hook up any more since we both added a home network mine is the server and my girlfriends as client using ics and win 98 se. my friends is the server with his girlfriends as client using a hub and ics with win 98 se i hope this clarifies it enough for you buy the way were both on kt7a m\b with 1200 and 900 mghzs with crucial ram maxtor hard drives and dlink 530tx ethernet cards.
