pc freeze

Hi,Iam haveing trouble just bought a new ati 9600 pro, if i dont install the driver and use windows xp default driver my pc runs fine if i download a driver from ati or any other ones my pc freezes cant ctrl alt delete have to reboot and my graphics go haywire, was told to do a reformat.so i did its still freezeing any ideas ,is my agp slot bad?

have you overclocked your card?

no everything is default settings

have you tried older drivers ?

maybe check for irq conflicts .. remove extra harware installed

Spyware Check?/ Virus Scan?/ Defrag! and what drivers are you using?
