Max Payne Sucks

I had tried to post this before, and think that I did indeed succeed at the end of another thread but wanted some input, so I created another thread.

I think that Max Payne Sucks. It is way too hard to be fun. The time required to learn it and play it requires that the player be either in college or unemployed. It is just not worth it...

Thoughts?

I completely disagree. Max Payne is not very hard to learn, after you complete the tutorial, its easy going. And on the minimal difficulty setting (which is all you can use when you start the game) it is fairly easy for a beginner. If the game is in fact too hard for you, there are cheats available to make it VERY easy. It deosnt suck.

I think this is going to turn into a flamewar. I'd advise that people stay away.

I thought it was very simple to learn. Opened box and went straight to playing it.

At an average of 2 hours a night, finished in about a week.

Only complaint I had was that it was too short and became somewhat monotonous after getting about halfway through. The story just wasn't intriguing enough to keep me interested after doing nothing but runnning around and shooting the same bad guys over and over again.

I got through the whole game while using bullet time maybe haf a dozen times. Most of those for fun only.

I figure if you know how to roll and shoot you've got all you need to make it through.

it cant be too hard the game ween you get it at 1st is molded with what you do if you pass the 1st senario in a Flash then it will be harder since the game calculate what you do and makes it harder....but if it takes you 4hours to do the 1st thing then the game will make it easyer to play thats what i read at the max webpage well go see i kno there are some cheats and lots and lots of Mods for the game to make it more fun the one i like is the Matrix one go and dl it look around you will find it

just finished max payne last night. the ending sucked. but its a fairly fun game... and its not hard to learn! it auto-detects your skill so whenever you die and re-load a saved game a couple of times the game makes it easier...

Too late, Oni. Flouder, your opinion is lost on all of us. Max Payne is one of the best games out right now.

And like I said in that other thread, unless you're some 50 year old man just learning computers, you have no reason to find Max Payne, or ANY FPS difficult to learn. If it's hard for you, play more FPS's, or don't play them at all.

I don't see this as being a doorway for a flame war at all.

Has been very civil to this point in my opinion.

Nothing wrong with conflicting opinions either as long as it's not getting out of hand.

I will agree that it was abit hard at the beginning for me. I haddent gotten the hang of bullettime yet, so i wasted it and played the first chapter with only o move worth of bullettime at any one point. I did get easier once i got used to it.

I bought Max Payne. Played it a few times and then put it down for a while becuase it was frustrating me. I'm going to try again soon and see if I can get used to it.

I think the biggest difference for me is the point of view movement. It seems to be exactly opposite as what I'm used to. Anyways...I think the graphics and the gameplay are great. I think it's more a matter of getting used to the gameplay style.

Sorry, it just smelled like flamewar to me.

Actually, I picked up a copy of the game, just for s|-|its and giggles. Its actually pretty good. I wonder how much they had to pay the people who made the Matrix to use the phrase Bullet Time (It is copyrighted, y'know ). I actually like that aspect an awful lot, but they could've given it more function. Shootdodging is cool and all, but its kinda useless in most situations (Using it has actually gotten me killed quite a few times).

I think the game has great promise. I like the engine, and the mechanics are very easy to learn. And its very rare nowadays that you see a game w/ good graphics and good game play all in one.

Some mods would be nice to see. The New York Minute mode is kinda neat, but I have no desire to use it, because I like to explore.
