Okay, quick question about hard drives

Um, I think this is in the right place. I'm looking at buying a 160GB or bigger hard drive. I heard Windows XP only supports 133GB without SP2 installed? Is this correct? I have the original Windows XP Pro (non slipstreamed) and I'm wondering if I would have to cut my HDD into 2 partitions. I would really not want to do this because I like having it all in one piece (if you get my meaning). Would I have to slipstream my Windows disk so it could recongize all 160GB at the setup?

I think large drives are supported in SP1 and higher. So having SP2 would be OK but you do not need SP2.

You need either SP1 or SP2 or to make an addition to your registry to support > 137GB drives.

If you buy a retail drive that's bigger than 133GB you will get a drivers disk that you can install to enable large drive support on win xp.
