**HELP**Abit BE7 and P4 2.4pressy

HELP-

just bought a new chip and in my ignorance didnt check compatability between the new chip0 and my old board - i have a Abit BE7 and the chip is a P4 2.4a pressy - now when i put the chip in and try to boot - the PC powers on for a second then powers off - no shorts or anything like that - tried my old 1.6 and boots fine- cant get the user manual off of abit site anymore and cant find anywhere else to check compatability - PLZ HELP!!

Yep yep. The BE7 was one of the first Abit boards that even supported HT, let alone a pressy.

Good mobo though. I used to have one.

crap -any ideas of a good (relatively cheap) board i can get to work wit this processor?
