network mayhem!

ive been running a wireless network in my apartment for about 6 monthes now. i really never knew anything about networking so i was satified just getting it to work, and was very careless when it came to security options. when trying to share files today, i realized that ive actually been leeching off at least one, possibly two, other persons wireless connections in my building who coincidentally have the same router (DI-624) and have left them with the default settings as i have. i do not feel these people are a threat to my security, but nonetheless, how do i keep them out and make sure all my wireless machines connect to my network only, so i can share my files?

set your WI-FI security password. then change the SSID of your wireless connection. this way you can connect to your network by name.

Just turn off the automatic connection to a Adhoc/Inter network. Then connect only to your own.

Make sure you always change your SSID and add WEP. Its very important these days.
