I;m moving from a fx5600 to a 6600gt AGP. What is a "safe" speed to OC the board to? and at what speeds does it start to really need aftermarket cooling?

id say with stock cooling an oc to 550 core and 1.14 mem is ok on stock cooling. past 550 on the core needs aftermarket cooling, and past 1.15 on the mem needs ramsinks or other aftermarket cooling.

1.7ghz for memory?

what is safe to overclock to is hard to say, it depends on many factors, including luck of the draw and overall system cooling.
