Task Pane in OfficeXP

I recently installed Abbyy ScanTo Office for my scanner, and now for some odd reason the Task Pane for Word in Microsoft Office XP won't appear at startup. I have checked my settings and made sure that it is supposed to appear at start, but it fails to do so. I have even tried a Detect/Repair Install from the Help Menu with no luck. Is there any reason why it wouldn't appear? It appears in all other office apps except for Word.
