Color scheme

Im not much of a color/design person and i need a scheme that shows a contrast from low/high. My first thought was a blue-red scheme, but i see its popular on a couple of other stats pages also. Anyone with some ideas?

If your not sure what im talking about, here's an example from extreme overclockers site.

Something like their color codes. Its the simplest and most obvious, but i'd like something unique, if there's nothing else sensible that could fit, i'll go with the same scheme.
