Computer not booting!!

Ok here is the deal.

I recently put this box together and installed win2k. It booted up and ran fine under the defaults. (9x100) I then upped it to 9x133 and it would not post. No beeps no video just sat there and blinked at me. I cleared the CMOS and it booted back up under the defaults. I tried someother bus settings such as (110, 115) sometimes they boot somtimes they don't. Again when it does not boot I get no beeps. If it actually boots up it runs fine.

Any ideas whats wrong??

9x133 is 1200 which is too much for a 900 chip.

That's 300 more mhz which most 900's won't do.

as for your system loading at 115 sometimes and sometimes not, i'd guess that's related to your voltage? what is your vcore set at?

why don't you try 7.5x 133

make sure your L1s are joined correctly for multi adjustment

Yea. I though that 9x133 would be a little much for that chip. I have not unlocked the chip yet so that I can change the multiplier.
I am thinking of running it about 8x133 or 7.5x133. I think it should be able to handle that.

V-core is set to 1.85.

Shouldn't the MB beep if it does not post though??
I just wanted to make sure this was not a MB or maybe a PSU problem.

Thanks for the reply

Welcome to the Forums

First off no not all board beep, mine jsut sits with a black screen.

Second try first to run stable for a few days at 7.5x133, it will be less frustrating to start small. just get it to a gig at 7.5x133 and get the cpu to 100% load, or try to run 3dmark2k1 and it it finishes it usually stable, or run SiSoft sandra Burn in wizard. just start small and try to see how high you can go. id say 100 is around the max for a 900 - those are older cores so not as good fo an OCer.
