I really need help not sure what to buy at all, I can't go over 120 at all so out of the question at the moment. looking for new card asap.. (AGP!!!)

If people could choose for me here
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatal..._Video_56.html

Which one I should buy, I only want to buy from that place.

I don't mind NVidia or ATI as long as I'm making the most of the £120!

Looking for good clear image quality in DVD-playback and a card that can pretty much play the next upcoming games in the future.

I'll never buy another card off ebay after what happend last time.

Anyways, let me know which one for £120.

Thanks

I would go with this one: PowerColor ATI Radeon 9800 Pro All-in-Wonder 128MB DDR VIVO TV-Out/DVI (AGP) - Retail (AW98-PC3) (GX-034-PC)

I am pretty sure you can flash the bios on that to an XT, and maybe spend the leftover money on an ATI silencer to keep your temps down. ATI > Nvidia.. especially with their monthly updated drivers.

In that case...
Any 6600GT from this page.

With a preferance towards the XFX, AOpen, and Asus cards.

What exactly does DVD-playback mean? Do you want a video card that has a "video in" feature, or do you just want one that has clear image qulity for when you play DVDs on your computer?

In that case, I stand by my original suggestion for a 6600 GT.

And other people telling me to go with the XFX Geforce 6600 GT.

I'm about to buy ''XFX GeForce 6600 GT 128MB DDR3''

am i making the right decision?

Ur final thoughts before i buy and use all my 140quid!

I would recommend the 6800nu which is slightly more expensive than the 6600GT. Once you unlock the dormant pipes on the 6800 it's much faster than the 6600GT.

Well, after having an NVidia GeForce 4 Ti 4400, and then buying this 9800 xt, I really liked the ATI card a lot better. How does it compare to the 6600 GT? I am not sure, but if you can unlock the pipes (on 6800 only?) and get 16 pipes, then it is probably better.. I have sorta lost interest in Nvidia since I tried out ATI, however that's just my preference.. they are both very good cards, the other guys are probably right (they are the majority) so the nvidia GT is probably the best purchase for you.

I also am a hardcore gamer, so that really affects what I want out of a video card.. I need stable, high FPS and a smooth card, which isn't what you are looking for.

all this peer pressure to BUY BUY BUY... lol either card you get from those recommended will be a very good card.

6600GT is already fully unlocked. Max pipes is 8. 6800 has 12 pipes and 4 dormant pipes. So I think the 6800 would be a better bet.

6800 for sure. It kills the 6600GT, and the 6600GT is better than the 9800Pro in most cases.

It's just a normal 6800, non-GT, non-LE and non-Ultra.
