Faulty RAM??

hi

Well, i have my new twinmos paired pc3200 (1gb) and the only way i can get my PC to bot is to flash my MOBO and have my venice running at stock speeds.

Now that kinda sucks seeing i have my venice up to around 2.5 ghz at the mo i obviously do not want to have to run it at 1.8ghz because my so called 'faster ram' will not boot with any kind of CPU OC what so ever.

I put my old PC2700 Ram in and everything is happy...

i have an ABIT ax8 mobo, do you think a Bios flash would help? (dont really want to do this)

I ran MEMtest on the new ram and had no errors so it seems the ram is OK from that point of view.. need some advice all why wont this Ram allow me to OC my venice?

Not quite sure as to what you are doing and what is happening.

Start of by listing your system, in detail. Include the PR for the Venice, the specific ram you are using (there are TM Speed Premiums and the non-Speed Premiums). What information do the ram chips have on them. What PSU do you have, operating system, cooling and anything else that you can think of that might be pertinent. Are you doing the 2.5 with the Venice and the PC2700 or is that with another cpu? I couldn't quite tell from reading your post.

Describe just what steps you are going through in order to try to overclock your processor. Include BIOS settings for cpu voltage, ram voltage, memory timings and divider used, if any.

This information will help us figure out your problem.
