Does memory speed influence cpu speed?

I have a laptop that is a 1.86 and is 533mhz fsb. The memory is 400mhz. The website that has my laptop advertises it as a 1.8. So I am wondering do I need 533mhz ram to run at the full 1.86 or is it just a typo on the 1.8 on this website?
