Upgrade strategy - Radeon 9800 and AMD2600+

I'm thinking of upgrading my video card around xmas time or early next year (when Bethesda Oblivion) comes out from my Sapphire 9800pro to a X800 of some sort (when the price comes down closer to $200). But I was wondering if my CPU will be able to handle it even though its OCd to 2.4Ghz. Do you think the X800 will be able to perform optimally without the CPU holding back? Or do you think the CPU will hold it down and if so, how much?

No, the CPU will be holding it back quite a bit.

I would say anything over a x800pro or x800xl isn't worth buying with ure processor.

I would say that trying to figure out what the video card picture will look like in 6 months is not a very fruitful exercise.
