enable sata 2?

just setup a dfi ultra-d and a hitachi deskstar T7K250 and it seems it be only running sata 1 1.5g/sec. is there something i need to turn on or something?

And you are sure your have a SATA HHD and controller?
Also, your HDD wont consume all the bandwidth of SATA 1, so i wouldnt worry too much.
FYI its, 150 Mb/s not 1.5Gb/s

To be technical its 150MB/s, and it is 1.5Gb/s (B for byte, b for bit)

yes the ultra-d is a nforce 4 ultra chipset so it supports sata 2 as is the hard drive.
