The disk itself should be bootable as-is. You might have to go into the bios and rearrange the boot order, so that your cd will boot first. Also, sometimes it will want you to 'press any key to boot from cd' so watch for that as you boot up.
thats a good guide it starts bout halfway down the page. you need to have an xp cd to take the bootaqble image off of and either nero or roxio to create the bootable cd.
they have always worked for me to create the burned cd you jsut need isobuster to extract the image nero or roxio to integrate it into the cd. set boot sectors to 4 and the binary to 0000 name the cd and your good to go. I do it virtually weekly. I'm working on bootable dvd's now for imaging and system recovery purposes.
