I am building a new computer, and I was wondering what the best 18" (viewable size) crt is for under $200 which will mostly be used for gaming.

you can get a 19inch LCD at that price (if you know where to look)... why would anyone want a 18inch CRT monitor for 200 bucks ????

Just maybe he prefers a 19" CRT for gaming. Nothing wrong with that.
$200 won't get you much of a 19" 8ms gaming LCD unless you get an extremely great deal.

Im using a iiyama 19crt that I got from newegg.com
It seems to work great for gaming refresh rate is 75hz at 1600x1200
and 85hz on everything else.

Man just check on ebay for " 21" Monitors" there will be a ton of Sony Tubed Dell P1110's pop up. These things kick *** and you can usually score them for a pretty decent price. I bet if you up your budget just a little more you could be running dual 21" Trinitron monitors
