9800p to xt ?S

hi i just picked up a sapphire 9800pro w/ the r360 core in it. And I was thinking of modding it into a xt will i notice a big diff in games? im not into benchmarks just running games good. Right now i can do all medium settings at 1024x768 i dunno number in bf2. with very little slowdown on huge explosions.

I thought that the 9800XT had the RV360 core?

Couldn't you just overclock the card/ flash with a better 9800P BIOS.

Before you flash to XT, are you still using stock hsf? You will probably need to upgrade to new hsf if you want to run at XT speed. The stock hsf is just not enough to cool at XT speed. After you take care of the heat problem, you have to test to see if the card can handle XT speed as well, which I believe should have no problem.

When I flashed my Sapphire 9800pro 128mb, I gained about 200 points on 3dmark03, which doesn't translate that much fps improvement on games.

If you don't mind the trouble of flashing bios, then you can do it, otherwise I would just leave it with Pro bios and just plain oc it.
