SUGGESTIONS ON TYAN S2892 BUNDLE SYSTEM COMPONENTS

Anyone has suggestions on based on price and capability performance, for normal use (media encoding, etc.)and medium gaming system -- pls include model, price and vendor source!!

1) 2x 1GB registered ECC PC3200 for above board -- Model and price
-- tyan.com website suggest specific items ranging form $180 to $500 per stick - Ouch!
2) EATX case --- Aluminum? with 2x 120 mm cooling fans
3) 450 to 550W EPS12V PSU
4) Quiet CPU HeatSinks -- Air or Water?
5) PCI Express graphics -- ATI or Nvidia
6) Raid 1-0 striping system disks?

Any special deals?

For RAM this would be good. Get two sticks.

As for the case you could get the CM Stacker or one of Lian-Li's higher-end models. As for the PSU a PC P&C 510w or 850 would be best, but pretty expensive. Other options would be a OCZ Powerstream 520/600w a high-end Zippy or a FSP550-60PLN. The Antec TP2-550EPS12V may also be a good choice. You could post a topic in the PSU forum for more help with the PSU choice.

As for the video card I would probably get a X800XL. It costs $250 at Monarch Computers.

I wouldn't bother with RAID.
