Choosing a CD/DVD drive

I'm building a new PC, and the only two things I can't decide on are what storage drives to use and which CD/DVD drive to use.

I am leaning towards the plextor 716SA, because speed really is the issue with all hardware and from what I have read, this is the fastest drive out there. Is that true?

But then . . . I would kind of like lightscribe, because I back-up a lot of my DVD's and a DVD printer would use up a lot of ink.

Are there any drives faster than the 716SA, and how many drives out there are lightscribe capable?

Don't know (or care a whole lot) about lightscribe, but the LG GSA-4163B produces 16X burns in 5m 13s, which is the fastest available at present. The Plextor is a great drive, but costs three times as much as the equally (or in this respect, more) capable LG.
