VPU error in games

Sometimes duruing games (most common with Far Cry, but happens in WoW, San Andreas, and others) the screen will flicker like it's changing resolution, then the brightness of the game drops to desktop level (pretty dark) and this error appears.


Its a 9800Pro with a 3400+ A64. The video/cpu are not overclocked. Motherboard is Epox 8KDA3+. Prior to this windows install I had no problems. Thanks for any help.

I have a similar problem with GTA. The game will pause, stutter, switch to windows and show that VPU deal. After that I can alt-tab back to the game and it usally keeps going. Had one or two hard cases too.

Sorry no answers but I wanna know the truth.
