 Hardware:
3200+ Venice Lbble 0521 (yes, week 21!) --forgot to write down the rest--
DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D
Kingston Hyper-X pc3200
Stock cooler (soon to be WC)
Tt Silent Purepower 480w
etc.

Final results for stable prime95-- Mem @ 120/200 divider 2-3-3-7
246fsb x 10 = 2460mhz @ 1230 HTT 1.53vcore 35*C Load 30*C idle (22ambient)
Just configured the memory for OC'ing, behaved well into 255 fsb then just hit a total wall :bang head . For stable benchmarking I had to back it down to below 250, and to optimize the memory timings another 4fsb. Then I could also run the HTT multiplier x5.
Those results weren't very... good, not a bad first day though. I've had better. The rest of my water stuff comes on wednesday/thursday. I think I'll wait until then to try to push it further. If you didn't catch my build in cooling it will be:
Chieftec Matrix Case
77 Bonny HC w/ 2 Sunon 120mm 108cfm in pull
Swiftech 6002 WB
Eheim 1048 pump.
I suspect at these settings, all things being equal my temps will drop to 30/26 respectively. The reason being that I have only one 80mm fan on the case for exhaust ATM. AMD's stock 60mm fan doesn't do a bad job, pretty quiet at idle too.
I can't seem to pull up that xtremesystems Venice OC results page. I wanted to see if there were any other week 21's out there, and what kind of results people were getting. I'll have the full stepping info in a few days. I have an X850XL PE to play around with for the next month as well, HL2 is getting some NICE numbers. :p
Haven't done much tweaking but so far I am

2k1: 23968
2k3: 12215
2k5: 6098

The wall I hit was disappointing. I got 2430 stable at 1.5v, got to boot 2550 at 1.55 but then had to back down to 2490 at 1.58 to bench 2k5 and p95.

1 quick question, what is your LDT multiplier? You are saying that your HTT bus is at 1230mhz so I'm assuming it is 5x (246x5 = 1230). The bus is only supposed to run at 1000mhz... I'm sure that is the source of your instability. Lower your LDT multiplier to 3x or 4x and see how it does ;)

Lower LTD to 4x, DFI can easily take 1200MHz Hyper-Transport Bus but that's pretty much the furthest you can go with it. I personally always keep it like this: 5x up to 250MHz, 4x up to 300MHz and 3x all the way up to 400MHz.

Exactly my sentiment. All of my OC'ing was done at LDT x3. I've heard 1200-1300 is safe range.

Ran P95 for 8 hours last night @1.53v, its rock solid. Load was 44*C 44System when I woke up (see pic). I have to go to work now but I'll try messing with memory and see if I can get 2.6+ tonight. BTW, what voltages should I stop at for air? I didn't want to have to raise it past 1.55v.

Where in the world do I start to overclock my new system? I dont know where to start. Should I use the ASUS Ai BOOSTER? or should I do this all manually?

What is this prime software you guys are talking about. Sorry rookie here!!!

If you still can't OC to higher than 2.5 ghz, then it looks rather duddy.

Maybe you just have to bite the bullet and increase the Vcore to 1.7 V and prepare to get better cooling, just like with an Athlon XP.

Because Athlons traditionally don't OC to the highest stabily until you give them a lot of voltage!

i hit much the same wall as you did but with lower voltage. i managed 2420mhz stable at 1.47 volts . after that i tried for 2500mhz up to 1.55 volts which was max i had available in bios and yet it failed prime in 2 hrs. its either a very bad chip or its the heatspreader . with idle i was at upper 30s and load up to mid 50s

I squeezed some more OC'ing in before work this morning. Today my goal was to find highest FSB/Mem settings, I went to 348x4 and it ran Prime95 5 minutes solid at 435 2-2-2-7. Then I thought I would try using those solid high fsb's but decrease the multi to 9x and the ltb to 3x. I tried 280x9 @1.55v but it just wouldn't bench 3dmark 2k5 or p95. Went back to 255x10 a ~2.6v, would not run either stable. Started backing down timings and here's what I ended up with...

Not bad, because its 2510 and rock solid. I'm not sure how to go after 260x10, except to go over 1.6v. My current temps are about 34 idle, and 39 playing BF2 at full settings. Not bad! When the rest of my water stuff gets here, I reaaaaally hope I can get at least 2.7. For ppl on H20, that seems to be the low end of most people's results. Seems like most get that on air. I haven't seen anything else out of these 0521 chips though.

Sounds like a similar problem. What is your stepping and hardware?
I'm using a Tt Silent Purepower 480w. Its a 20-pin converted to 24, I don't seem to have any problems with voltage fluctuation but I really hope my chip isn't just.. a meager 25% OC'er.

Okay, I'm done for tonight.
I'm at 1.5vcore +110% special, a place I thought I would never go with the stock heatsink/fan. This chip just will not run 2.6ghz stable. Tried multi's from 8x up to 10x. 9 and 10 seem to work best. In fact, I see no difference in performance between 285x9 and 256x10. I wish I'd have just gotten a 3000+. $50 cheaper and I'd probably have a better OC. :bang head
