i just found an Asus TX97-LE mobo for what im assuming from a mid to late 90's compaq (dates on board and components) that had an AMD K6 233 in it. I was wondering if the same socket 7 K6-2 500mhz would work fine in that board or do i have to find the old, hard to find K6......if i have to get that...help me if u can whereabouts i can get it. I would really like to rebuild this computer for a day project and see if i can get '95 back up on it and maybe play some Wolfenstein 3D!

Does it have the ability to provide a 2.1 or 2.2v VCore? If it has split VCore/VIO then it'll work.

Don't forget to check your BIOS, or upgrade it if necessary, if it can support K6-2 as well.
