best bang for $$ pci-e card?

got my heart set on 3000+ venice + DFI ut nf4... now I need to decide which video card to look for...
I thought 6800nu unlocked would be great but those are only available in agp?
I need to be able to run HL2/BF2 fairly steady at mid~midhigh settings.
would 6600gt do it?

what do you think?

my 6600 runs 1024x768 at all med settings in bf2 just fine so pretty much anything better than that will do a good job.

The X800XL definatly THE bang for the $ card right now. I also got mine for 250 from Egg but that card is 330 now.

can you unlock a 6800nu pci-e like you can a 6800nu agp if so for $200 and the later potential of SLI I would think that would be a great Bang for the $ buy...or am I mistaken?

depends on if you plan to overclock. If you overclock go with the x800pro. If you're gonna run stock go with the x800xl.
