OCZ EB Platinum DDR2 capabilities?

So I know a few people ont he forums have the OCZ EB Platinum Rev.2 LE PC2-4200 3-2-2-8. We can all say that the memory actually does 3-2-2-6@DDR2-667 w\ roughly 2.1-2.2v. I also read that the chips used in this memory are Micron chips and that the same chips are used in some higher clocked memory modules.

So my question is do you guys think that if I were to losen the timings to maybe 4-3-3-10 or something in that range that the memory could do DDR2-700-800+?

OCZ memory is like running Kingmax brand. Please do your research.

In fact I achieved DDR2-747 with 4-3-3-10, mind you this is the highest frequency I've TRIED............

Yes the EB DDR2 ram will do the speeds you're looking for with some looser timings. I've seend DDR700 with 4-2-2- timings

He hasn't been here in a while so I think he is reffering to OCZ's problems prior to (roughly) summer of 2003.

Well, my OCZ PC2-4200 EB rev2 can do 360 MHz (DDR2-720) using 3-2-2-6 timings (with a couple bumps in voltage), so I would think running 3-3-3-8 should go even higher. Let me test it to see.

Ok, I did a quick and dirty test of my system using 4-3-3-10 timings and was able to hit 387 MHz memory speed (DDR2-774). When I tried to bench at that setting, I got a reset, so it obviously wasn't completely stable. But with more voltage and playing with settings, maybe. My system hits a max at 291 FSB and that's where I was at that speed, so it might not be just the RAM causing the problem. The main point here is that I did get a higher O/C with looser timings. For example, DDR2-760 was stable with relaxed timings where my max O/C with tight timings was DDR2-720 before.

Not you makshim.

I should be getting a couple sets of these soon so I'll see what they can really do
