Search engines will come across your site automatically by following links form other sites. If you DON'T want them to list you, then there's a meta tag you have to use. if you want them to revisit your site after a certain number of days, then there's another code you can use. But just make sure you have proper description, title, and keyword tags and you will be indexed where you should be in search engines most likely if enough people have links to you. Just to make sure you can visit most search engines and find a "submit url" link and submit your site manually.
