VisionTek Xtasy 9600XT

Hello,
I'm new to overclocking and everything and I've beem reading around on here about how most 9600's are 500/300.

Now that is the exact card I bought. VisionTek Xtasy 9600XT 256MB. I purchased it from CompUSA brand new. I installed ATI Tools and the speeds it's running at and the BIOS defined values for the GPU and MEM are 398/203. Now I managed to oc it to 434/237 and pick up no artifacts in the testing or in game, I haven't tried going higher.

Now should this card be able to go 500/300?... or am I missing something. I'm just confused as seeing the site says it's 500/300 yet the defaults are 398/203. Thanks for any help.

9600xt- 500/300
9600 pro- 400/300
9600-300/300

I've heard a lot of people that have bought 9600xts with 400/200 speed, but don't oc to xt speeds. Try to OC it to 500/300, and if it locks up then I would shoot for a refund. Are you sure that the speeds on their site are for the 256mb version?

Yea, they mentioned its for both 128 and 256MB versions. Mine reads 499.xx/299.xx with the ATi Tool. If im not wrong, the Powercolor ones are 400/200.
