System restore isnt uhh restoring...

Ive tried to restore to 3 points but every time i get the message that "windows couldnt restore to this point" Im not a pro with wiping my hardrive and this is the only way i know how to do it, any advise will greatly be appriciated!

Edit: You may want to just try reinstalling the System Restore core files ...Start | Run | Type %systemroot%\inf, and click OK | Right click the sr.inf file, and select Install.

Alternatively you could also type the following from the Run box, after inserting the XP CD...

rundll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection C:\Windows\Inf\sr.inf

The above line is case sensitive, so just copy and paste the entire line into the Run box.
