if i have pc4000 ram and a dfi board which says it supports up to 3200 can i still run 4000

You can run PC4000 ram in a motherboard that supports PC3200. But- it will only run at PC3200 on stock settings.

Yes you can. If you have a board this is a known overclocker then running ram beyond the spec should be no problem. Trying to run memory like this in a board this isn't such a good overclocker could be problematic and probably a waste of money.

I have the DFI LANParty Pro 875P Rev. B board and I use OCZ PC4000 ram, it runs it at DDR500 speed just fine.
