Need help with SATA please

Hello everyone,

I'm doing my first solo build and I'm having trouble getting my computer to read my HHD as SATA. My rig:

BFG NF4 Ultra motherboard
AMD 3200 Venice core
OCZ powerstream 520 PS
OEM Seagate 80GB SATA HHD w/ NCQ
Rosewill X800 XL videocard
2 X 512MB G.SKILL memory

I unfortunately haven't done SATA before so I don't know what I'm doing. What is the correct way to set-up SATA on a NF4 motherboard? I downloaded the Disk Wizard from Seagate and that didn't work. The MB disk has the chipset drivers on it which are supposed to have the SATA drivers in them, no luck. I've tried exploring the chipset disk looking for the drivers to make a boot disk but I don't know what to look for ( excuse me, my ignorance is showing). no matter what I do, when I boot the computer the HHD still shows as ATA 133. Also, is the HHD supposed to come up as a piece of removable hardware? I've done some short test of Prime95 (8hrs) to see if it's stable and it works fine, this is just frustrating me. Probably what I deserve for buying an OEM part and not knowing what to do with it. Any help would be appreciated.

you shouldn't need any drivers for the install. Maybe you need to configure the bios to change the SATA ports to run in IDE mode.

no worry about the drive showing up as ATA133. You won't even come close to 133, let alone 150MB/sec that SATA allows.

HD should show up as removable if drivers for the hard disk controller is installed, as SATA is hot swappable.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I need to check the bios and see if it's set up right. It could be that it's running like it should and I just don't know how th read the info. I'll keep working on it. the manual isn't very helpful as far as the bios is concerned.
