Post Good eplanation of next-gen Intel chips

Found this little news blip on Tom's Hardware and thought I would share. I know I was a little confused as to exactly what the new Intel chips are gonna be like and this helped clear the air a little.

Enjoy

With the introduction of these new 65nm processors are we going to see a socket change? Also, will prices be comprable to the current processors?

I knew about these 3 months ago from a friend who let me in on them, but I didn't know the particulars. I just knew whenever he says something you can take it to the bank.

The Inquirer article has gotten a little bit of negative feedback as of late on this forum, but they got their info from reliable Intel sources.

Now that Tom's has put out this article maybe this will quell some of the naysayers that these CPU's are indeed very real.

From Tom's info, it appears that Pentium M will be relegated to laptops and small form factors. That's disappointing.

Tom's info is not complete (<sigh> as usual with Intel products). These CPU's will be avaiulable for the desktop PC, and we are seeing their beginnings right nw with the Dothans. Just hang tight, they're coming.
